1. We collect nothing

There is no server, no account system, no cloud sync, no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party SDK inside this app. We cannot see any of your data — not “we choose not to look”, but that it never reaches us.

2. Where your data lives

Everything stays on your iPhone, inside this app’s own sandbox, in two places:

• What you log: one private JSON file (Application Support/coffee_diary_v1.json) holding only the two things you type in —
  • Bean records: name, roaster and origin note, roast date, amount left, price.
  • Brew records: date and time, water temperature, dose, water, grind setting, extraction time, rating, a one-line note, recipe version, tags.
• Interface preferences: the system’s app-settings storage (UserDefaults), six items only: language, weight unit, price unit, currency symbol, reminders on/off, dark mode.

No other app can read either location, and we have no way to. None of this is collected in the background. Nothing is stored except what you entered — no device identifier, no location, no contacts, no photo library, and no data from any other permission.

One clarification: if you have iPhone “iCloud Backup” turned on, Apple’s system backup includes this app’s sandbox in your own iCloud. That is an OS feature you control from Settings, not an upload performed by this app, and we cannot read it.

3. Export is always your action

“Settings → Export everything” lets you pick a format first (JSON, CSV, Markdown or a PDF ticket book), then writes the file into the iOS Files app — on-device or in your own iCloud Drive. You choose the destination in the system panel. The app never uploads, never auto-shares, and never sends anything to the developer.

4. Notifications

If you turn on peak-window reminders, the app asks for the system’s local-notification permission. Alerts are scheduled and delivered entirely by your device — no server is involved. You can switch them off at any time, and declining has no effect on anything else.

5. In-app purchase

Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. Payment, refunds and receipts are handled by Apple’s App Store. We never receive your payment details, name, address or email. The app only asks Apple whether this Apple account has already bought Pro, in order to unlock the features. That is the only network use in this app, and it happens when you tap buy or restore.

6. Deleting data

• Deleting a record or a bean inside the app removes it from the local file immediately.
• Deleting the app removes everything, including settings. We hold no copy that could be restored or handed over.
• Because no personal data is collected, requests for access, correction, deletion, export, withdrawal of consent or objection have no subject here — what you do on your device is the whole picture.

7. Children

This is a coffee brewing log. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If how this app handles data ever changes (for example, if any online service is introduced), this page will be updated and the App Store release notes will say so. As of the date above, the policy matches the app exactly: this app sends your data nowhere.
